GC Training, information on current in-house courses.
If your particular training needs are not included in our list of courses, please do not hesitate to contact us for an informal chat, or e-mail us, without any obligation. If you require course content to be modified to suit your particular needs or want a half-day rather than a full-day course, please discuss this with us.
Some Clients may wish to invite delegates from other employers to make a course more cost-effective. This is not discouraged.

Course notes and CPD certificates
Every course is covered by a set of comprehensive notes. Each delegate receives a CPD certificate for his or her training records.
Clients can select times which suit them. For a full day’s course the timetable is usually :-
Start, 9.00 am, lunch, 1.00pm to 1.45pm, finish, 4.45 to 5.00pm. ( Breaks of 10 minutes at 10.30 and 3.15.)
Half-day courses are usually held in mornings and finish at 1pm. By arrangement, they can instead be held in afternoons, ideally starting at 12.30 .
All our presenters are very experienced and nearly all are self-employed consulting engineers with training skills rather than academics who have gained some practical experience. (We have no academics.) They are all available for consulting work independently of GC Training.
Some courses anticipate more delegate participation than others but they all provide for delegates to discuss the course content and especially specific problems related to delegates’ own work experiences.
Course fees and arrangements
These are £960 for a full day’s course and £600 for a half-day. These fees are for up to 16 delegates and are fully inclusive apart from VAT where applicable, ie on courses numbers 11,12 and 14 which are presented by a VAT-registered consulting civil engineer. Public Sector clients are able to reclaim VAT payments. Additional delegates may be accommodated at an extra cost of £60 each for a full day course and or £40 each for a half day course. NB Clients who print their own sets of delegates’ notes from our master set save £60 on the course fees.
Clients are expected to provide a suitable venue in which delegates can be seated theatre style and which can be substantially blacked-out. In addition it should be equipped with one Powerpoint projector, an overhead projector, one screen, one flip chart with felt-tipped pens, and a desk on which the projector can be mounted. Any of these requirements which has to be provided by GCTraining is charged as an extra but at cost. By special arrangement, for courses held between January 1 and March 31 in any year, the payment of course fees may be deferred until mid – April, ie in the next financial year.
